1. About This Page
This page explains how to permanently delete your MoodFire account and the personal data associated with it. MoodFire is published by MOODFIRE LTD, a company incorporated in England and Wales, and is available on Google Play (package name io.moodfire.moodfire) and on the Apple App Store as MoodFire.
You can delete your account directly from inside the app at any time. If you no longer have access to the app — for example because you have uninstalled it or changed device — you can ask us to delete your account by email instead. Both routes are described below.
2. Delete Your Account From Inside the App
The fastest way to delete your account is from within MoodFire on your phone:
- Step 1. Open the MoodFire app and sign in.
- Step 2. Go to Settings → My Account.
- Step 3. Tap Delete Account.
- Step 4. Confirm with biometric reauthentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode).
- Step 5. Deletion is processed server-side immediately and is permanent. There is no recovery period and no separate confirmation email — once you confirm, your account is gone.
3. Delete Your Account by Email
If you have uninstalled the app, can no longer sign in, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app flow, you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to data@moodfire.io.
- Send it from the email address associated with your MoodFire account so that we can verify the request.
- Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
We will action verified requests within 30 days of receipt and confirm by reply when your account has been deleted. If we cannot match the email address you write from to a MoodFire account, we will reply asking for additional information so we can verify the request.
data@moodfire.io4. What Gets Deleted
When your MoodFire account is deleted — whether through the in-app flow or by email request — we permanently delete the following data, both from our servers and (where applicable) from the device:
- Your account record, including your name, email address, and Firebase Authentication user.
- All mood entries, check-ins, and wellbeing history stored in Firestore.
- All cloud-synced data, including breathing, Reframe (CBT), Unwind (bilateral audio), grounding, Spark (gratitude), profile, agreements, and wellbeing-cadence data.
- Locally stored encrypted data on the device used to delete the account, including Hive boxes and items kept in secure storage.
- Any Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push-notification tokens registered to your account.
Server-side deletion takes effect immediately. If you have signed in to MoodFire on additional devices that you cannot access at the time of deletion, the locally cached data on those devices will be cleared the next time the app is opened and detects that the account no longer exists, or it will be removed when the app is uninstalled.
5. What Is Retained, and For How Long
A small amount of information is kept after your account is deleted. None of it can be used to identify or re-contact you:
- Anonymised aggregate data used for research. MoodFire retains anonymised, aggregated statistics derived from app usage and wellbeing trends. This data contains no individual identifiers and cannot be re-linked to you. As described in our Privacy Policy, anonymised aggregate data is retained indefinitely for research, product-improvement, and statistical purposes.
- Records we are legally required to keep. Where the law requires us to retain certain records — for example, financial and tax records relating to subscription payments — we keep those records only for the period required by the relevant law, after which they are deleted on schedule.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your MoodFire account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions are managed by Apple and Google and must be cancelled through your Apple ID or Google Account subscription settings. We do not have access to your payment card details and cannot cancel an app-store subscription on your behalf.
7. Changing Your Mind
Account deletion is permanent. Once your account has been deleted we cannot restore your data, mood history, or progress. If you want to use MoodFire again later you are welcome to create a new account, but it will start fresh.
